Around the corner from our studio HQ, a new playground was in desperate need of improved roadside visibility. The playground in historic Cottage City, Maryland is located at an intersection where drivers often speed, having exited a state highway just a few blocks away. Several City Council meetings and countless conversations with residents led to a successful project funded by the 1600-person city, for which we and the neighbors are very grateful. The train alludes to the train track nearby, from where we could hear the horns blowing as we painted! Kids love trains and art featuring trains (and so do we). Design Lead: Chelsea Ritter-Soronen.
